I read articles from the site Catholic Womanhood on occasion. This one got my attention, but disappointed. Is the syndrome not letting go? You shouldn't look back?

What This Blog Is About

This blog is about reading the Bible beginning with Genesis and proceeding through each book, in order, to Revelation. This is a self-assigned task with no time deadline, but reading the books in order is a priority. No skipping around!

I'm using two study aids, a study bible and a dictionary of the Bible. These resources are listed below.

The comments I offer on the blog are not meant to summarize or be exhaustive in any way. After all, that's what the study guides are for! I offer here reflections, questions, favorite passages or points I want to remember, and I invite commentary.

The Harper Collins Study Bible (HC)
New Revised Standard Version, 1989

Inside The Bible
An Introduction to Each Book of the Bible (Baker)

A Guide to Reading The Entire Bible In One Year (Garrison)
Webb Garrison
Rutledge Hill Press, 1999.

Eerdmans Dictionary of the Bible
David Noel Freedman, ed.
Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2000

This is obviously a mix of Protestant (Methodist in the case of Garrison's book) and Catholic sources. Although I'm now a Catholic, I learned almost everything I currently know about the Bible from the Presbyterians. Practicality dictated the choice of these books; they were readily available in our home library.
